How to master this chapter?
I am gonna discuss what I did , surely, they will help you.
- Read & understand: Read the chapter first and understand it from your respective coaching or whatever you prefer ( lectures on youtube, other reference books, etc.)
- Make Notes: Make notes, pointwise, include flowcharts, diagrams. Use sketch pens or color pens to make them attractive as in last months these notes are going to your saviour. I am attaching some of my notes
3. Common Names and Scientific Names: The most irritating thing in this chapter is to learn the common names with the respective scientific names.
What I did, I wrote all the names in stick pads and stuck them on the wall in front of my study table.
I used to just read the notes once before going to bed.
Believe me, if you follow this process every day, you may forget your name(LoL) but never you will forget these scientific names.
Just read them, don't try to mug up.
4. Revision Frequency: The chapter needs repeated revision, either all your work will go in vain if you don't revise it for a week.
Revise the chapter once every week, continue this frequency till 1–1.5 months before the exam.
In the last month, revise it every 3–4 days.
Don't worry, with frequent revision, the time for revision will get reduce ( 10–15 mins max ).
5. Solve MCQs: No need to mention, the important part you have to do for every chapter is to practice MCQ.
6. Analysing mock tests and PYQs: Find out the parts or concepts in which you are making mistakes in tests, highlight those points and yeah analyze PYQs, you can understand which points are important from an exam point of view, revise these parts as much as you can.
Note: Don't forget to revise the chapter a day before exam, it will ace up your confident level.
Attaching some important pages of Animal Kingdom :)
