- Consistency.
“Abhi se kya karega padh kar?” (Why are you even studying?)
“Abe padhne ki zaroorat nhi hai abhi.” (You dont have to study now)
“PCT hi to hai, itni tension kyun le raha hai..”(Its only a part completion test, bro)
“Humne shuru me kuchh padha hi nhi tha.. phir bhi pass hogye na?”(We studied nothing during the start, we still passed right?”)
Build as much consistency in your studies as you can. Study joyfully, comfortably and regularly (you will thank me at the time of your proffs). Everything else is secondary.
EVERYTHING else is secondary.
No need to put in painful 8 hours of studies. Just make sure the one hour you put in daily really counts.
Everyone who is telling you to chill out at the start of the semester will be seen mugging up mindlessly, sleep deprived, depressed and anxious during exams. Mark my words.
Save yourself the unnecessary stress. Study regularly, come what may.
2. Pay attention to (almost) everything your teacher says in the class.
Does not matter where you are sitting in the class, mark my words.
The teacher standing before you speaks with experience.
Look out for phrases like:
“This is important.”
“This can be asked in the viva.”
“Go through it and ask any doubts if you have.”
Keep your ears open even if you are playing PUBG at the backbench.
3. Enjoy
You can not go through a career as demanding as medicine without having an interest in the subject.
The human body is amazing I tell you.
You will be left in awe once you really start to ponder over the existence of such highly regulated, fine-tuned mechanisms in your body, working endlessly to keep you alive!
Always live in awe of the glorious mechanism of the human body. Let that be the focus of your studies and not a quest for grades which will give you no idea of what kind of doctor you’ll become.
4. Relax
Dance, sing, draw, sketch, run, play sports, read books, travel.
Anything you want.
You have the time. Manage it well and you will never regret leisure.
