ROLE OF PARENTS

Role of Parents in their Child's success of NEET

It can be difficult for parents to stand by and see their child go through the challenges of the entrance exam. Exam time indulges students in night cram sessions, consumption of over-doses of caffeine, unhealthy eating habits, and extremely high levels of stress and anxiety

The unconditional love and support from parents is the most beneficial thing any child can receive to succeed in competitive exams like NEET.

Parents not only play a crucial role in supporting their child during this phase but also help them to nab a good rank in competitive exams like NEET. Here is a list of ways how parents can help their child succeed

1. BEING MACRO-MANAGER

Parents should constantly be aware of the various assignments and exams their child is attempting. It’s their responsibility to ask their child whether or not feel prepared for the entrance exam or maybe the mock test

2. INCORPORATE HEALTHY STUDY AND LIFESTYLE HABITS

Never underestimate the power of a nutritious meal and night’s sleep. Incorporating these simple changes effectively help in sharpening their memory. Furthermore, it will also help in showcasing the best of their abilities when the time for their exam arrives.

Parents should encourage make healthier study and lifestyle habits. They should never schedule any late-night activities during this time and make sure their child eats healthy food items rich in fiber, proteins, and iron. Healthy habits lead to their child feeling energized all the time, staying more focused while studying, and, ultimately performing better.

3. BE ENCOURAGING

Parents can do a lot to build their child’s belief in their own abilities. They should appreciate the hard work their child is putting for NEET – one of the most important medical entrance exams. They should also make them believe that one disappointing score does not mean failure, there exist many other factors that lead to a successful career.

Parents should be equally encouraging even after the exam. They should always remind their kids of the love and support – no matter the result. Moreover, they should acknowledge their child’s hard work and efforts. A parent’s support likely goes further than they think in reducing stress.

4. SOLVING MORE MOCK TESTS

Mock tests follow two things – they are set as per the examination pattern and the time allowed to solve all the questions is also similar. Solving NEET mock tests and sample papers make the child understand the pattern of the exam, thereby increasing their comfort level with the actual paper. These tests cover all the topics and help children to master the entire course material and give them an edge over other students in the examination.

5. MAKE THEM FOLLOW A ROUTINE

Most students either do not have a study plan or do not sincerely follow it. As a result, their performance goes down. The study plan should mention the time duration assigned to a particular topic. Moreover, it should also define a precise methodology to deal with the preparation, planning, and obstacles faced in each subject by the child. Finally, a goal should be set, and the topics should be prioritized basis the difficulty level.
