Hey everyone,
We all have the habit of ignoring and sacrificing whatever comes our way during exam preparation. Not all of them are to be avoided. Few are important.
Here are DOs and DON’Ts of Exam Period Sacrifices
DO:
Do sacrifice socializing, going out, partying. Save time and energy. Either use that time to study, to do something productive, or just sleep.
DON’T
Don’t sacrifice sleeping time, I’ve been guilty of this so many times, but honestly, it’s not worth it. You think so much better when you’ve slept before an exam, I’ve made so many silly mistakes on tests because I wasn’t fully rested. Also, sleep will help reduce your test anxiety. You will feel stressed for a big final when you are running on no sleep.
DO:
Do sacrifice social media and TV shows.
DON’T
Don’t sacrifice exercising to study. Simply going for a walk and getting fresh air for a study break will you concentrate a lot. This might be a good option for you if you’re having trouble concentrating on your work.
DO
Become "KARM PRADHAN". If you are preparing for an exam living away from your parents in a different city or in some cases nearby a relative, do not cultivate the habit of going for a meet every week. This actually kills your time. You become tired after the journey. You aren't able to study well in a new environment. You indulge in talks. No. of distractions increases. So staying and studying at your daily place will help you.
DON'T
Skipping meals can lead to illness, irritability and low energy. Therefore, it's important to eat all your meals and eat them on time. You should time your meals around your study schedule and make sure you eat foods that help you stay energized. Do not sacrifice your meals
DO
Should you be in a relationship during preparation is altogether a different topic. But for the ones who are with their partners, communicate well about your strategy and goals. Don't mix up your career and relationship. Avoid late-night conversations and use that time to sleep. Otherwise, you will be sleepy throughout the day and won't be able to concentrate well. This will harm your studies.
DON'T
You need to be in your best-relaxed state of mind to write a good exam. You cannot do it if you are stressed out if you haven’t relaxed or not slept well. Make sure you have packed in ample relaxation time and that you have given your mind enough space to be able to perform well through the exam. And one of the best relaxing tricks is to take shower. Usually, students/aspirants skip taking baths for preparation considering them a wastage of time. But actually, this helps to relieve stress. So you shouldn't be skipping showers.
These guidelines have helped me over the past few years to go through a more balanced and healthy exam period, and honestly, it took me a few years to actually learn them so hopefully, this will save you some time
Good luck, Study hard!
Happy learning Aspirants 😊😊😊
